Did you ever try to build a website just like another one? Here is a chance, your dream site may have built WordPress and you may detect WordPress themes on it. Wonder How?
According to a survey published by Netcraft, the number of websites in the world powered by WordPress is over 172 million! Now we know why your dream site could have been built with WordPress.
If your dream site is really built with WordPress, there is no wonder that you can build the same website. How? just look at the theme they are using. Grave the same theme for your own website and boom your dream site is ready!
But, there is a question. How can you identify the theme they are using? Don’t worry, I will teach you a couple of methods to find out what themes and plugins they are using. So, without further talking, let’s get started!
Method 1: View source code
The best way to look for the current activated theme of a WordPress site is by viewing its source code.
If you don’t know how to view the source code of a website, don’t worry, I’ll make you do that.
If you are using a desktop, just visit the website and right click your mouse anywhere on the webpage. Now, you will find some options. One of them will be the view page source.[Your browser may show a different option name]. Just follow the image below.
If you cannot manage to do that, just use view-source: before the link. For example, type view-source:https://www.blogdesire.com in the URL bar to view the source code of blog desire.
Now press ctrl+f on windows and command+f on mac to enable the find option. After enabling the find option, type wp-content on the find box. If the site is built with WordPress, you’ll get some results like the image below.
But if you don’t find any results, this means that this website is not built with WordPress. Else, just keep typing, wp-content/themes on the find option. Again you’ll find some results like the image below.
And you’ll find the theme name just after the word wp-content/themes. Now just easily search for the theme name on the internet and probably you’ll find your theme easily.
Method 2: Use a third-party website to detect wordpress theme
There are a lot of third-party websites available that will lookup up the WordPress theme name on a website.
If you search for a WordPress theme detector online, you’ll find a set of websites that can do the job for you!
Here are a few popular websites that can assist you with detecting WordPress themes
But you can search for more websites and tools online to resolve the same problem.
Method 3: Search for plugins
If you are looking for the plugin list of a WordPress website, you can simply use method 2.
Because this method is really awesome and more professional. Which gives you accurate results of themes and plugins names of a WordPress website. Personally, I recommend you to use method 2 to detect wordpress themes. Of course, they are free to use. I’m not paid to recommend these websites.
So guys, this was all for the day. If you found this article helpful, just give it a share. Because a share will bring me a smile 🙂
